DIRECTIONS

There is no set time for having the smoothie but we recommend having it 1-2hrs before you intend to feed/pump.

Just add 250-300ml milk or water, mix/shake.

NOTE - Start with the foundation of eating right and hydrating well, then add Hey Mama Lactation Protein Smoothie to support your milk supply and overall well being.

🍌I add a ripe banana and a handful of ice to the vanilla flavour with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top

🥜 I add a spoon of peanut butter and a frozen banana to my shake with almond milk.

Can I take the smoothies while pregnant?

We recommend mums wait until they are 36 weeks or after birth to take the smoothies. We suggest 36 weeks as some mums may start expressing a few weeks prior from giving birth.

However, we highly recommend that before taking the smoothie that pregnant mums seek professional advice from their GP first to be safe as every mum's dietary and health needs are different.

Can I take the smoothies even after I have stopped breastfeeding?

Yes, you can still consume the smoothies even after you stop breastfeeding/pumping.

If I am pregnant and purchase a bag now but want to wait until the baby is here, how long is the shelf life? 

The shelf life of our lactation protein smoothie is typically over 12 months so you can buy the smoothies in advance.

When and how often can I take the protein smoothies?

Majority of our mums like to have the smoothies in the mornings or midday when they need something nutritious to help fuel their bodies.

We suggest the best time to take the smoothies is 30mins-2hrs before you intend to feed or pump.

Where is Hey Mama made?

All our products are made in Australia.

When will I start seeing results?

Every mama is different! Most will see results within 3-4 days, some sooner, some later 7-14, and for a few, maybe not at all.

Just like every mother is different, so are our  breastfeeding journeys. We recommend to also doing the following:  

- Regular pumping and power pumping for the first 2-3 days.

- Regular latching 

- Drink lots of water

Are the protein smoothies a meal replacement?

Our protein smoothie by itself is not a meal replacement. But if you add other ingredients such as bananas, fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc to make it a more filling snack then yes then it can be a meal replacement. 

What should I do if I am concerned and experiencing difficulties with my supply?

If you are experiencing difficulties with your milk supply, please consult your health care practitioner or lactation consultant as they can properly access your situation and provide you with some tailored recommendations.

How many smoothies can I take in a day?

We recommend 1-2 shakes a day. Please note, our protein smoothies should be taken with a healthy well balanced diet and not as a sole source of nutrients.
